17 year old Lee Jae Phang from Kuala Lumpur has been awarded second place in the recently held Intercollegiate Beethoven competition. This is an annual event between the specialist music schools and the junior departments of the conservatoires. Lee Jae played the Tempest sonata and a bagatelle. He has been studying with John Byrne at Wells Cathedral School for the last five years.

15 year old Daniel Evans has won second place in the Sevenoaks Young Musician Competition of 2011. Dan was one of the younger competitors in a tough field which included many students from the London conservatoires. Daniel has been studying with John Byrne at Wells Cathedral School for the last five years.
